For a few weeks, people have sent me a link to a movie that was recently shown on the Oprah Winfrey Network. Wake Up documents the awakening of one young man--Jonas-- from his "normal" perceptions to the extra perceptions of seeing spirits and auras. In the trailer, there are scenes of his getting an MRI, and talking this awakening over with his girlfriend, and asking spiritual teachers to set him straight. His primary questions are valid: "Am I crazy? " Or "Will people view me as crazy?" Yet my reaction to the trailer was this: I wanted to reach out to the guy, sit him down and say" Look, its a gift, OK? Now, what are you going to do with it?"
I am an aura seer of many years. Seeing auras is a gift, true. Yet I am constantly challenged by what I see 24/7 (yes, I dream in auras too). There are times in the day when I frankly do not like what I see, including illness, despair, destructive thoughts, anger, and so on and on. And there are times in the day when I am inspired by what I see: purpose, someone standing in their power, bright spots, hope, love... Yet my biggest challenge, as well as my most grand opportunity has been in answering the following question: What do I do with the gift?
Those of you who are awakening to your own gifts might ask the same. For years, people from all walks of life, and from varying backgrounds and cultures have asked me to help them cope with what they perceive or sense or intuit or see. Living with extra sensory perceptions is not a school topic in our world-wide Westernized cultures. So, no matter our age, we are basically left to our own devices to figure out what to do with these so-called gifts. We might therefore view the gifts as curses or at the very least, problematic.
Here is my challenge to those of you who are awakening to your own intuitive gifts: What if you were created to see or perceive in this way for a reason? Yes, you read that right. What if utilizing these gifts is what will save this planet from the brink of destruction? What if you asked the question: "What do I do with this gift?", and receive an answer that puts you on the path of your purpose?
As for me, I do my best to use my gifts everyday. Most certainly in my work as a healer and teacher--that's why I love what I do. Also, though, I use my gifts of perception to see where there might be dark spots, and beam a little light into them. I try to inspire others by placing attention on the possibilities in their auras. You are light. This what I see. This is the truth of you. So what are you going to do about that?
