As both Human and Being, I commit to...

Updated: Jan 18, 2023

I am known as a wise woman, and as such, I honor your wisdom as well. Always trust yourself, your intuition, and your deepest knowing.

I realize I am a mere mortal, yes, yet I am also a spiritual Being in this mortal appearance. And as a spiritual Being, I understand that I know things without knowing why, and I have understandings that often go beyond the obvious facts or the status quo. And so I tune into the guidance that comes from that higher aspect of my expression: the true Self, the spiritual Being. The Spiritual Being is the one who can step back, observe and know. The Spiritual Being then gently guides my human, mortal self to act with integrity, compassion, understanding and common decency.

The human being: for me it is the most fascinating term in the English language, because it suggests that while we are indeed human, we are also so much more.

Who exactly is that Being? Well, that has been a life long project of mine to discern, yet I honor that One, for I truly believe with all my heart and soul that that One—that Being—is intimately connected and at one with The One—The Creator One, The Loving One, The One who accepts all, no exceptions.

Therefore, as both Human and Being, I make the following commitments:

I will do my best to approach life’s challenges from the perspective of love and not fear.

I will try my best to listen with all my senses and discern for my self what rings true for me and what does not. I hold that my opinions are my own and may not express what is true for you or anyone else. I hold that your opinions are your own, and may not ring true for me, or anyone else.

Yet I also hold that there are some things I consider to be true, and I will hold those truths in my heart in order to guide me in my life.

I will try my best not to directly or inadvertently blame, shame, slander, or gaslight my fellow humans, nor will I censor or dismiss their ideas, opinions, or expressed thoughts.

With my fellow human beings, I will do my very best to practice compassion, kindness, and openness.

May I gently suggest you commit to the same.

Be at peace with yourself. Be compassionate to yourself—especially your human self. And trust your true knowing.
