The "That's for me!" Game, or Creating with Intention, Part one

You know how it can be: when things go sideways, they often do so in a torrent or in multiples. So it had been for a pal who faced down a child support court hearing, a border patrol hold-up, and potentially having to move from a home she was gearing up to purchase. Yes. As well for me: new financial strains, and terminal illness of loved ones and...well, the list has more than a few items on it. So my pal and I, as creative people, will first feel the feelings of the current reality and do what we can to release those feelings and then....

We'll try our best to answer this question: How do we create a reality that is (while not necessarily fool-proof) more positive for us? There are many ways and tools to approach this question, but I want to share one fun tool I am using currently because its really helping me shift from panic to smiles: I call this the "That's for me!" game.

As I walk about my neighborhood or surf-about the 'net or go about my life, I notice things and feelings and experiences that I like and declare: "That's for me! "

For instance, if I were creating a more sustainable, affordable and gracious way to live, I might see a sweet looking yard on my walk and note: "That's for me!" Or I may read an article about a new way of being in community: "That's for me!" or a color on a wall of a building. Or a new idea to create income. Or even the feeling I have when I am dancing--joyful, free, abundant: "That's for me, that's for me, that's for me!"

Honestly, this is not an exact science...I am not necessarily creating that house or yard or what have you. It's more of the ESSENCE of what I am creating that is important: What do I want to experience?

The bonus is that the "That's for me!" game is positive, and makes me smile, if even for a moment. And eventually....

The Law of Attention takes over, which states: Whatever we pour our attention into will get created. The "That's for me" game gives us some major hints as to what we are creating.

Lets trust that, shall we?

Happy creating,

Elke
